What is the NpSG?
It is a German law to combat new psychoactive substances (“NPS”).
What exactly does the law regulate?
Depending on the substance group, it prohibits the manufacture, trade, placing on the market, import/export/transit, acquisition, possession or administration of substances that fall under the substance groups mentioned in the law.
Does the ban apply to consumption?
The law primarily targets trade, distribution, etc. Possession or consumption is not criminalized everywhere – but possession, acquisition and distribution can trigger administrative or criminal measures.
